Active light. Hoorn was a traditional fisherman town with a harbor to the open sea. From 1662 the location at the harbor entrance had similar four legged constructions for 300 years. The current structure was built in 1977 and it was intended to resemble its neglected predecessor that had to be dismantled in 1968. The light has a modern lantern at 15 m with character Iso.W4s, range 10 nm.
