Here is a view of the former Keeper's House as it appeared in the early 1900's. James Pottinger, Keeper at the time, can be seen on the boardwalk. This house has been moved twice since the photo was taken. It is now a private residence located in Brimley, MI on the north side of West Lake Shore Drive just west of the intersection with County Road 221. There are now no structures at the range light, merely two steel towers. The range light has also been referred to as Brush Point Light. The front and rear range lights are located about a quarter of a mile along the shore, beyond the west end of Bermuda Ave. in Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan. As is obvious in the photo, the area is very swampy. It must have been a miserable, insect infested place to live during the warmer months.
