The lighthouse stands next to the ruins of St. Pauls Church, which was built by the Portuguese in the 16th century (St. Francis Xavier preached there) and renamed by the Dutch, who ruled Malacca from 1641 through most of the 18th century. Located atop St. Pauls Hill on the south side of the harbor of Melaka. |
